Chronically Curious: Exploring Disability Identity

$75.00

If you have a chronic illness, mental illness or are neurodivergent and have ever felt nervous, uncertain or not ready to claim a disability identity, you are not alone! There is no initiation or clear point of entry into disability, people arrive at a disabled identity in all sorts of different ways. My aim is to help ease the transition with this workshop.

If you’re curious about trying on the identity of being disabled in a loving, open, vulnerable space, this workshop is for you. In this workshop, we will:

  • Discuss what disability is

  • Do some introspective journaling and visualizations to connect with your needs

  • Practice how to name and share your access needs

  • Work through a scenario in your life where sharing your access needs is/has been challenging with the support of the community

This workshop is offered at a sliding scale The actual cost of the workshop is 50, but you are able to pay $25-$75. Paying what you are able to, especially on the higher end of the scale, helps me to be able to provide price-accessible programming. If this price is inaccessible to you, email me at hello@wovenexperience.com.

Use code SLIDINGSCALE50 to pay $50

Use code SLIDINGSCALE25 to pay $25

You will receive a welcome email with a zoom link after purchase.

This workshop will be limited to 8 people per session to ensure everyone can meaningfully participate. This workshop is 2 hours on Zoom.

Image Description: A Black non-binary person with a filtering face mask walks down a neighborhood street with one hand in their pocket and the other hand on their cane. They have a short mohawk and are wearing a jacket, shorts, tennis shoes, and glasses. This comes from Disabled and Here.
